Photographer Federico Pedrotti, from Bozen but living in Munich now for over a decade, is a master of celebrity photography, even if the expressive faces in his portraits don’t belong to famous actors or singers but instead belong to people whom only a few would recognize by name. Recognition is not what’s significant, but rather the suggestive effect of these portraits, their aura—which the photographer knows how to create subtly, according to all the rules of his art and craft.

Der seit über einem Jahrzehnt in München lebende Bozener Fotograf Federico Pedrotti ist ein Meister der Starfotografie, auch wenn die ausdrucksstarken Gesichter auf seinen Porträtfotos nicht die von berühmten Schauspielern oder Sängerinnen sind, sondern Menschen gehören, die den wenigsten Betrachtern namentlich bekannt sein dürften. Nicht der Wiederkennungseffekt ist von Bedeutung, sondern die suggestive Wirkung dieser Bildnisse, ihre Aura, die der Fotograf subtil nach allen Regeln der Kunst und des Handwerks zu erzeugen versteht.

Federico Pedrotti, fotografo bolzanino stabilitosi a Monaco da oltre dieci anni, è maestro nel ritrarre divi anche quando i suoi volti intrisi di espressività non appartengono a famosi attori o cantanti, ma a persone la cui identità è nota solo a pochissimi. Importante non è riconoscere il volto, ma captarne l‘aura, colta con sottigliezza e sviluppata poi secondo tutte le regole dell’arte fotografica.
